Is Binnacle only a Planned Maintenance System?

No. Planned maintenance is connected to crew, safety, compliance, operations, procurement, commercial work and full financial accounting. A completed job can carry its operational and financial effect through to owner reporting.

What works without internet?

The Vessel PWA is offline-first for defined onboard maintenance, defect, reading and stock workflows. Work is queued locally and synchronised after reconnection. The Crew Portal and Supplier Portal are online-only.

How is owner information separated?

The authenticated owner context is enforced in application services and again through database row-level security. Cross-owner reporting follows a separately controlled path.

What banking and accounting connections exist?

Binnacle supports bank-ready ISO 20022 and CSV files, statement and status-file imports, deterministic reconciliation, and accounting exports for QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Business Central and generic CSV. Live providers remain customer- and deployment-specific.

Is Binnacle AI-powered?

No. Current automation is deterministic and explainable. Matching, calculations and suggested actions use inspectable rules with visible exceptions rather than generative AI.
